Time To Man Up

I've always said that I've never watched many "man" films that men "should" watch. You know, the likes of Godfather, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars etc etc.....

So, after a discussion at work today, one of the lads has decided he's going to "man me up" (not in a gay way lol) and bring a dvd a week in for me to watch. His list so far is:

Godfather 1 & 2
Scarface
Bourne Trilogy
Leon
Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
Sin City
O Brother
The Departed

I haven't watched ANY of the above. I'm not saying I haven't watched any, but feel like I'm supposedly "missing out" on some of these. The first three in that list have always been on my "to watch" list, but never got around to it. Other films mentioned included Star Wars, Trainspotter, Lock Stock (think I've seen that/most of that), Full Metal Jacket and a few others that went over the top of my head.

I think I'll be starting with the Bourne Trilogy this weekend as SWMBO is away. I will also look at doing a "mini review" after each one, so keep an eye on this thread

PS, feel free to post other suggestions.

Last week I decided to pop along and take a look at the Mollusc, based on the edge of Chesterfield in a small park by a housing estate. Originally I wanted to be there for sunset, but when I went by, there were a fair few kids playing football on the park. Not wanting to either be hassled, or have parents come out, I decided to leave it. So I went back later in the afternoon - fully expecting it to be busy. Going To Try And Be More Regular

Ok, so it's now the middle of September. At the start of the year I set myself a challenge to create a video a week - which I've really been trying my best to do.  A couple of these videos have led to people contacting myself to help them create a video for their company/charity or whatever. YAY! The latest video I'm working on is for Chesterfield Operatic Society, which is of a World Premiere of Nicholas Nickleby.

Working On Nicholas Nickleby

My editing set up As I mentioned in the last post, I'm currently working on a promotional video for the World Premiere of a musical adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby. Whilst working on this edit, I was chatting online to one of my "online buddies" Godwyn, and started talking about the editing process. It was then I realised, how complex it can get - even for a small YouTuber like me. God knows how they go on when editing for a blockbuster film. For this video, I started off by creating a simple animated introduction using Adobe After Effects. I then created a bunch of "lower 3rds" for the cast/staff that I knew would be on camera. From there, I then use the dynamic link feature in Premiere Pro to drag these in and over the top of your video.
