Lloyds Pharmacy - Your Drivers Suck!

My god, what a useless bunch of drivers they employee! Bit of background, for about 5 years or more, I have been having injections of Stelara every 12 weeks. The the early days, everything was managed to Bupa, then someone else (maybe AXA) which lasted a few months and then Lloyds (probably for the last 2 years). In the time Lloyds have taken over, I have rarely signed for my drugs (maybe the first few deliveries)! They also fail to take away a sharps bin that I've been asking to be collected for 2 years! About a year ago they let someone else sign, luckily they rang me straight away (as it needs to be refrigerated) I then changed my job (same company) back in Feb/March time. So I gave a name of someone who could sign if I wasn't there (due to possibly being off site). However, deliveries in May, August and Yesterday have all been signed by someone not named! Again, no sharps bin collected even though it's on the delivery note - along with the only name who c

The Mollusc - AKA "Chesterfield Snail"

Image
Last week I decided to pop along and take a look at the Mollusc, based on the edge of Chesterfield in a small park by a housing estate. Originally I wanted to be there for sunset, but when I went by, there were a fair few kids playing football on the park. Not wanting to either be hassled, or have parents come out, I decided to leave it. So I went back later in the afternoon - fully expecting it to be busy. Other than 1 dog walker, who left after about 5 minutes, I was all on my own.

Quick Trip To The Black Rocks

Image
Last weekend I decided to pop up to the Black Rocks at Cromford, Derbyshire (just outside Matlock). Anyway, due to nodding of whilst catching up on some soaps, I only caught a little of what was left of the golden hour. So, I decided to pop back up this week seeing as I was off work and expected to be fewer people around. Well I was right, and to make things better, it was a sunny day with minimal cloud coverage. The downside - the sun was behind the rocks which lead to some blown out footage. Here is the best I could get (although not sure quiet how it ended up being a vlog style video - that wasn't the original intention). Anyway, after that rather unsuccessful attempt, I will be taking another trip back - but the next time in the later part of the day. Unfortunately it now probably won't be until the end of October when I have another week off work. Chances are the weather will be pants, but hey, I'll have 5 days to have a try.

Working On Nicholas Nickleby

Image
My editing set up As I mentioned in the last post, I'm currently working on a promotional video for the World Premiere of a musical adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby. Whilst working on this edit, I was chatting online to one of my "online buddies" Godwyn, and started talking about the editing process. It was then I realised, how complex it can get - even for a small YouTuber like me. God knows how they go on when editing for a blockbuster film. For this video, I started off by creating a simple animated introduction using Adobe After Effects. I then created a bunch of "lower 3rds" for the cast/staff that I knew would be on camera. From there, I then use the dynamic link feature in Premiere Pro to drag these in and over the top of your video.

Going To Try And Be More Regular

Ok, so it's now the middle of September. At the start of the year I set myself a challenge to create a video a week - which I've really been trying my best to do.  A couple of these videos have led to people contacting myself to help them create a video for their company/charity or whatever. YAY! The latest video I'm working on is for Chesterfield Operatic Society, which is of a World Premiere of Nicholas Nickleby.

The Start Of My Smart Home

So, I picked up a Nest Thermostat last week, and finally got it installed this evening. I'll update this thread once we've had a bit of useage from it, and also a few bills - just a shame it's the wrong time of the year really. Other "smart" purchases we have planned are: Nest Fire Alarms (2 of) WiFi Phillips Hue Bulbs WiFi Phillips Hue LED Strips Wireless Smart Alarm Smart Radiator Thermostats Nest CCTV (possibly) And here it is set up on the wall.
